How to mark a point in a MATLAB plot?

 I have this plot 

I need to make a straight vertical line at a point on x axis that the user enters and show the coordinates of the intersection of that vertical line with my plot.

How can this be done in MATLAB?

for example: the user enters 1020 then a straight vertical line will be drawn at 1020 that meets the plot at some point and the coordinates of that point will be shown somehow.

One way to do this is to use the GINPUT function to graphically select a point using the mouse. Assuming the data you plotted is stored in a variable data, the following code should do the sort of thing you want.

Why do I get a "Too many input arguments" error when not passing any?

  I am working on some simple object-oriented code in MATLAB. I am trying to call one of my class methods with no input or output arguments in its definition. Function definition: function roll_dice Function call: obj.roll_dice; When this is executed, MATLAB says:    ??? Error using ==> roll_dice Too many input arguments. Error in ==> DiceSet>Diceset.Diceset at 11 obj.roll_dice; (etc...) Anyone have any ideas what could be causing it? Constructing piecewise symbolic function in Matlab

  I am trying to generate a piecewise symbolic function in Matlab. The reason it has to be symbolic is I want to be able to integrate/differentiate the function afterwards and/or insert actual values.
